How do I choose the right hearing protector?

It is important to choose the correct hearing protection for your needs. Our selection guide will help you make the right choice.

I need a hearing protector with Bluetooth. What is the difference between Synergy MP and Xstream?

Both Xstream and Synergy MP hearing protection feature Bluetooth. Xstream is developed especially for listening to music, while Synergy is developed for speech communication and has some additional features.

Do you have hearing protectors with active listening?

Yes, use our product filter to find products with the Active Listening function.

How do I set Xstream into Bluetooth pairing mode?

Make sure the unit is turned off. When the unit is OFF, press and hold the Power button for around 10 seconds, until the LED flashes Red/Blue.

I’m using Xstream for phone calls, but the person I’m talking to can’t hear me very well when I’m in a noisy environment. What can I do?

You can add a boom-microphone to your Xstream protector. It improves the sound and gives less background noise. It is available as an accessory, article nr. 16982-001.

I get a lot of wind noise when using active listening. What can I do?

Use the windshield that came with your product, also available as spare parts.

I find the audio volume low while Bluetooth streaming. Can I increase the volume?

All Hellberg active hearing protection is limited to a maximum volume of 82 dB(A). This is to prevent long-term hearing damage according to product standard EN 352-8. If you still experience low audio volume, please check that your phone does not have a volume limit activated.

Can I switch my hearing protector between Helmet Mount and Headband?

No. Hearing Protectors are Category 3 protective equipment and may not be changed or altered in any way.

Can I use the same charger for Hellberg Synergy Multi-Point and Xstream?

Yes.

Unfortunately, you will need to replace your safety glasses with a new pair.

I need face protection in my work, can I integrate face protection with Hellberg hearing protection?

Yes, Hellberg supplies a wide variety of face protection that integrates perfectly with both headband and helmet mounted hearing protection.

Maintenance

How often do you recommend replacing the Hygiene Kit?

As a general rule, we recommend replacing your hygiene kit every 6 months. In hot, sweaty conditions it could need replacing after only 3 months.

Which helmets are approved to use with Hellberg Safety hearing protectors?

Here is a list of all helmets that are approved to use in combination with Hellberg hearing protectors. These combinations are certified according to EU regulations.

To which standards are Hellberg Safety products approved?

Hellberg Safety products are Category 3 personal protective equipment and are approved according to all required standards. The declaration of conformity for each product lists the standards each product is approved for.
