Local is an ideal hearing protector for envi-ronments with medium
to high noise levels. Harmful noise over 80 dB cannot reach the
ear through the electronics.
Local has a 14-channel
2-way communication radio fully integrated into the ear cups. Every
model also has active listening feature so that you can hear
warning signals. You can talk with co-workers up to two miles away
and all this while in a noisy area with your hearing protection on.
The radio operates both by voice activation
(VOX) and Push to talk (PTT).

Passive hearing protectors remove the surrounding
sounds, eg alarms and warning signals, that can effectively decrease
safety in certain work situations.
Local permits normal comprehension of surrounding
sounds. Sensitive microphones catch the surrounding sound
with full stereo effect. At a low noise level weak sounds are amplified
and at high noise levels the amplification is limited to 80 dB(A)
through the electronics.

area need to communicate
with each other and a supervisor.
Local with its 14 pre-programmed channels makes it
possible to easily communicate with either team without disturbing
the other simply by changing between channels. As long as all teams
are within the range of the built-in tranceivers then the numbers of
users in each group can be unlimited.
Local is a radio for short distance communication.
Using the latest high technology circuitry Local now makes
it possible to effectively and clearly communcate at distances
up to 2 miles.
Range will always be dependent on topography, however,
the frequency band used on the Local is relatively insensitive to
the screening effect of steel and concrete. For longer distances
we recommend Regional or Global.
The Local headset is equipped with a unique single
button that allows the wearer to make all changes between VOX/PTT
and channel 1-14 without compromising the hearing protection. The
VOX function can be in tree levels; low, medium and high noise.
With one button you can make all
changes and a voice will tell you what selection you have
made, or as a check, it will tell you what mode and channel you
have selected.
