Can we trust active listening function hearing protectors in impulsive noise?

The electronic devices in Hellberg hearing protectors are very fast. Even if you have the volume control set at maximum amplification, the impulsive noise level from the amplifier at the inside of the protector is more than 35 dB below the outside level.
